3. A candidate shall be granted an equivalence for training where he shows that he possesses a level of knowledge equivalent to that acquired to earn a diploma upon completing post-graduate university studies including:
(1)  not less than 9 credits in post-graduate level biochemistry courses or in a related field recognized by the board of directors;
(2)  not less than 36 months of studies and research at a university in biochemistry;
(3)  the writing and defence of a doctoral thesis based on research the candidate carries out.
